SW-SS0028R
SW-SS0028R--Premium 0% Sil-Phos Brazing Rod
For copper to copper connections. Flows quickly at brazing temp. Requires <0.005" close joint tolerance. Similar to the copper base metal, but phosphorus containing alloys. Should not use if braze is exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds in service.
Features/Benefits
- Copper-base alloys, such as brass or bronze, the joints should be fluxed.
- Is not recommended for brazing steel or other ferrous base metals. The phosphorus content will form a low ductility inter metallic with the base metal.
- Suitable choice for brazing brass. In this application operators should take care to avoid over heating the brass.
- The self fluxing property of this filler metal is effective on copper only.
- This alloy flows quickly at brazing temperature so requires close joint tolerance, less than 0.005" is a frequent choice for copper brazing
